Savor Santa Barbara – Waterfront to Wine Country
has been named the winner of the 14th Annual TABASCO® Community
Cookbook Award – Western Region.
The announcement was made by Paul C.P. McIlhenny, President and
CEO of the McIlhenny Corporation.
One judge noted that this book is "harmonious in design, from
its introduction by best-selling author Sue Grafton, to it's beautiful
photography and art work, to its instructional sidebars." The
cuisine is representative of California cooking and has recipes
such as Huevos Picante, Spicy Beer Bread, Pumpkin Chicken Chowder,
Yams with Praline Topping, Guadalupe Flank Steak and Sweet Lemon
Avocado Pie to highlight its attention to the traditional with its
bold experimentation.
By honoring our cookbook, Tabasco and the McIlhenny Corporation
acknowledges the contribution ASSISTANCE LEAGUE® of Santa Barbara
is making to preserve our American, regional and local culinary
customs while benefiting the Santa Barbara Community though our
many philanthropic projects.
Proceeds fund the expansion, update and improvement of the Assistance
League facilities.
